Kirkwood homes, Kirkwood problems

Kirkwood has some of the oldest housing stock in our service area — pre-war homes near the historic downtown, plus 1950s and 1960s neighborhoods spreading out from it. That age shows up in the heating and cooling: original ductwork that was never designed for today's equipment, furnaces and air conditioners that have been patched through one too many seasons, and houses where a previous owner finished an attic or a basement without ever touching the duct system. The result is the classic Kirkwood complaint — a house that is comfortable in one room and stubbornly off in another, or a system that runs all day in July without ever quite catching up.

Older homes also reward a careful eye. A repair that looks cheap on paper can be the wrong call on a 40-year-old furnace, and a new system that isn't sized and ducted for an old house won't feel right either. Bob will walk you through that honestly, with the numbers, before you spend anything.

Straight answers, no pressure

Bob, the owner, handles jobs himself and doesn't pay anyone on commission. If your furnace just needs a part, we'll tell you that and fix it. If it's at the point where repairs are throwing good money after bad, we'll show you the math and let you decide — including whether you may qualify for up to $300 back through Spire on a new high-efficiency furnace. Ask if you qualify. New equipment carries a 10-year warranty and our labor is guaranteed for 3 years, and we're rated 4.8 stars by homeowners across West County.
